 Agritourism Intensive

June 23 to June 25 at Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery in Champaign, Illinois

The Land Connection, with its many years of farmer training experience and in partnership with a number of experts and leaders in the field of agritourism, will host a three-day training intensive from June 23 to June 25 at Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery in Champaign, Illinois, which was named an Illinois Agriculture Agri-Tourism Leader for 2013. We do have scholarship funds available. From the Ground Up!  & Aquaponics Workshop 
June  20-22  at  Growing Power  in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Our 2-day “From the Ground Up!” workshop let’s you choose two different urban farming topics to study over the course of the weekend. This training will leave you educated and motivated to grow your urban farming projects in your own community. 2-day workshop topics include mushroom growing, beekeeping, composting, project planning, year-round growing and hoop house building.


Our 3-day Aquaponics workshop includes one day of instruction with UW-Milwaukee’s School of Freshwater Sciences, and two days of building an aquaponics system with Growing Power staff. This aquaponics workshop gives you experience building an actual system.

Chicken Processing 
June 21st at Boots & Saddles in Pembroke, IL

There will be a core competency training in chicken processing on Saturday June 21st at Boot N Saddles Ranch 2729 S13810 E Road, 60958  the directions are on their website Boots n Saddles Riding Ranch  from 10-2:00 depending on the amount of hens we have to process.

This is Only for farmer trainees interested in Poultry.  Sold at Pioneers Frontier Memorial Trail Ride and Campout 1st Annual  Appreciation  on June 28th at Boots and Saddle. Chickens will also be sold for the Healthy Food Hub.
